1. It was one of the most remarkable characters
in the history of Mexico. Patriot declared communist and revolutionary Frida
Kahlo, as it became known, had a life from overcoming and suffering that
reflected in his work to become one of the greatest painters of the century.
2. The inspiration of Frida for his paintings
and photographs came from their anguish and difficulties in dealing with their
condition. When a child, Frida had poliomyelitis that left her bed for several
days. How sequel, Frida had to one of feet atrophied and a leg thinner than the
other. But the tragic event that changed his life forever happened when she was
eighteen, on September 17, 1925, where on the way home, she suffered a serious
bus accident that left her near death. Wraparound by an iron bar by the abdomen
and suffered multiple fractures, including in the column Frida took several
months to recover. Altogether 35 surgery were necessary.
3. Frida leave recorded their pain and above all
their frustrations about her husband's infidelity, by whom was extremely
passionate, and by impossibility to have children. All his work, consisting
mainly of self-portraits, reflect this condition.
4. It was while he was recovering that emerged
the painter. His mother put a mirror on his bed and an easel adapted so she
could paint lying and Frida made her first self-portrait. In August 1929, he
married the Mexican painter Diego Rivera with who had a tumultuous and unstable
marriage, but it was who helped Frida revealing to be as an artist.
5. When Frida died on July 13, 1954, his house
was transformed a museum in his homage.
